Established in 1978 with a few orphans in the outskirt of Calicut – Kerala, it is a destination much sought after by foreign delegates and enthusiasts for knowledge and research. Who we are?

Jamia Markazus saquafathi ssunniyya (The Markaz Islamic University) is the prominent academic and humanitarian organization in India. Established in the year 1978, under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, Markaz University is running diverse educational and charitable institutions all over India. Located at Karanthur, Calicut, Kerala, and popularly known as Markaz, it is the proud symbol of those who follow the original Islamic faith and wish to make a steady progress in life with modern education backed by spiritual teachings. It has been the patron of the unprivileged population and champion of constructive education that rightly shaped a culture.

Having produced more than one lakh students from different institutions, say High School and Senior Secondary, Arts College, Boarding Madrasa:( residential School) ,Orphanage , Hifzul Qur’an College, ITC, Arts and Science College and IHRAM , etc, this great seat of learning has a galaxy of talented youth and distinctive collection of professionals with high caliber. Markaz Alumni aims at galvanize this scattered talents and bringing them into an umbrella platform by empowering them with the leaderships skills and technical knowhow, so as to utilize multiple intelligence to the welfare of this nation and community development. A unique pattern of activities and initiatives are in the anvil by identifying the potential of each and every component of a plethora of Alumnus who are not explored properly.

Apart from Kerala, Markaz has regional educational centers and divisional offices all over India, the Gulf countries, the Europe and America. Markaz operates more than 50 institutions in India and many sub-centers across the world including Orphanages, Schools of Qur’an, Colleges of Shari’a, Secondary and Higher Schools, Arts and Science Colleges, Orphan Home Care, Vocational Training & Technical Institutes, Medical and Professional institutes, Management and Finishing Schools, Masjids, Hospitals, Hostels for Girls…etc. Currently, with student strength of above 20,000, there are more than 7000 graduates and hundreds of professionals of Markaz, who are actively involved in social services in India and abroad. Above 300 schools are affiliated to IAME, the Markaz Central School Body, throughout India.Millionsof people benefitfrom theeducational, social, medical and humanitarian activities of Markaz.

At Markaz, significant support has been provided to orphans, destitute and the poor students. Inspired by the teachings of Holy Qur’an and Prophet Muhammed (s), Markaz provides complete free education and habitual expenses of more than 5,000 students including orphans, Sharia’a & Qur’an students, Kashmir boys…etc. Excepting educational empowerment, Markaz concentrates on medical missions, career guidance, sweet water projects, community marriages, and a many more humanitarian services throughout India. The services of Markaz have imprinted a slot for itself as the guiding light for a generation deep-rooted in a righteous way of life.

Empowered by faculties that have received wide acclaim from universities across the globe, Markaz has built an international reputation for its invaluable contribution to Islamic education, which is rightly recognized by great Universities like the Al-Azharof Egypt, IIUM Malaysia, Amman Islamic University, Jordan, Darul Mustafa University, Yemen, MuhammadulFatihWaqf University, Turkey and the Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia MilliaIslamia, Jamia Hamdard, and MANUU New Delhi…etc. Students belonging to different states of India and pupils from abroad such as Canada, USA, UK, Singapore…etc. are also accommodated and educationally fed in Markaz institutions.
